OUR PROJECTS
Making a Difference in Jewish Communities
At the A.B.A. Foundation, our ongoing projects are carefully crafted to address various facets of community development, education, and cultural preservation within Jewish communities in Nigeria. Explore the initiatives that drive our commitment to making a positive impact:
OBJECTIVE: Amplifying the voices and stories of African Jews through the first-ever online magazine.
— SUPPORT FOR HEBREW EDUCATION
OBJECTIVE: Encouraging Hebrew education by providing essential resources to Judaism learning classes across Jewish Nigeria.

BOOK DONATIONS:
To foster a love for Hebrew learning, we actively engage with learning classes across Jewish Nigeria, providing a diverse range of Hebrew learning materials. From textbooks to supplementary resources, our book donations aim to create an enriched learning environment.

INTERNET CONNECTIVITY SUPPORT:
Recognizing the importance of technology in education, we provide WiFi and data for browsing to enhance connectivity at Gihon Hebrew Synagogue and Brachot Yeshiva International Schools. This ensures that students have access to online resources, expanding their learning opportunities.
— MARKETING/PROMOTION OF LOCALLY MADE JEWISH MATERIALS
OBJECTIVE: Empowering local artisans and promoting indigenous Jewish materials/products both domestically and internationally.

MARKET EXPANSION:
We champion local entrepreneurs and small businesses crafting Jewish materials such as kippah, tallitot, talit kitan, and mezuzah. Our marketing efforts extend beyond borders, connecting these talented individuals with markets both within Nigeria and abroad, fostering economic empowerment and cultural exchange.

ONLINE MAGAZINE:
"African Jewish Voices" is our groundbreaking online magazine, a magazine containing stories and interviews contributed by African Jewish writers and bloggers. It shares narratives that celebrate the vibrant lives, traditions, and contributions of Jews in Africa. Through this initiative, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the rich tapestry of African Jewish identity.
— JEWISH DOCUMENTARY
OBJECTIVE: Sharing compelling stories for the International audience that bridge cultural gaps and foster understanding.

DOCUMENTARY SERIES:
Our documentary series begins with "Reclaiming Jewish Ancestral Roots," a 90-minute exploration featuring the journey of a black American woman tracing her roots to Igboland. Beyond personal discovery, the documentary highlights her continued support for the Nigerian Jewish community, fostering connections and understanding on an international scale.
OBJECTIVE: Creating a sustainable and vibrant agricultural Jewish settlement in Akwa Ibom State.
A 20,000-TREE PLANTATION:
Our agricultural settlement focuses on sustainability, starting with a 20,000 trees (bitter kola, cocoa, coconut, and palm) plantation. This initiative not only attract and make possible the first ever typical Jewish community settlement but also serves as a source of providing means of livelihood for both individuals and the entire community.

COMMUNITY SETTLEMENT FACILITIES:
The Shecheyanu Kibbutz Project goes beyond agriculture, incorporating essential facilities that make up a typical Jewish Community. This includes a Knesset for communal gatherings, a mikvah for spiritual rituals, a school for educational development, and a standard settlement buildings for fostering a sense of community and connection.
